Boris Savchuk
Boris Savchuk ( Russian Борис Савчук , English transcription Boris Savchuk ; born August 19, 1943 ) is a former Soviet sprinter .
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 he was eliminated over 200 m in the preliminary run and came in fifth with the Soviet team in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1966 he won silver in the 4-by-100-meter relay with the Soviet relay at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest . At the European Indoor Games in 1967 in Prague, he won gold in the 4-by-300-meter relay and silver in the mixed relay, at the European Indoor Games in Madrid in 1968 , bronze in the 4-by-364-meter relay and gold in the mixed season.
At the European Championship in Athens in 1969 , he was seventh over 400 m and won silver with the Soviet team in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
A gold medal in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1970 in Vienna was followed by silver over 400 m and in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the European Indoor Championships in 1971 in Sofia.
He was Soviet champion in 1970 over 200 m, 1967, 1968 and 1970 over 400 m and 1966 in the hall over 300 m.
