The Bothkamper See is a lake in the district of Plön in the German state Schleswig-Holstein . It lies in the moraine area of the Upper Eider and is part of the headwaters of the Eider .

The lake is located between the towns of Bordesholm ( Rendsburg-Eckernförde district ) and Preetz ( Plön district ) in the Bothkamper See water and soil association (WBV Bothkamper See) . The bathing area in Kirchbarkau is regularly awarded good or very good water quality. The Hochfelder See drains into the Bothkamper See via a ditch.
The Bothkamper See is a recreational lake in the municipality of Bothkamp of the same name and is located in the eastern hill country of Schleswig-Holstein. The landscape belongs administratively to the district of Plön with the communities of Klein Barkau , Kirchbarkau and Schillsdorf , on its extreme western border bordering the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde with the communities of Bissee and Groß Buchwald .
