Bottenberg is a district of Freudenberg in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia with around 270 inhabitants.

geography

Bottenberg lies in the upper end of the Heusling valley at an altitude of between 340 and 390  m above sea level. NN , a tributary of the Fischbach . The highest mountain in the area is the Häseler Kopf with a height of 403.9  m . In the north, the place borders almost on the Büschergrund part of Anschlag .

Bottenberg's neighbors are Büschergrund in the north, Lindenberg in the northeast, Oberheuslingen in the southeast and south and Freudenberg in the west.

history

Bottenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1461.

In the course of the municipal territorial reform, the Freudenberg Office was dissolved on January 1, 1969, and Bottenberg became part of the newly formed town of Freudenberg.

Infrastructure and transport links

Bottenberg is located immediately to the east of Kreisstraße 20, which connects Büschergrund with Oberheuslingen. The next driveway to Autobahn 45 is “Freudenberg”, only about one kilometer away. There is no industry in town.

There are two bus stops in Bottenberg that are operated by the Westphalia-Süd transport company. Buses run every hour in the direction of Oberfischbach and Freudenberg.
