Oberfischbach is one of 17 districts of Freudenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Oberfischbach is located in a wooded low mountain range. The place is criss-crossed by many excellent hiking trails, which are looked after by the Sauerland Mountain Association . Among other things, Oberfischbach is located on a section of the Way of St. James in the Rhineland and Westphalia and on the supra-regional hiking trail X19 ( Schlösserweg ).

history

Oberfischbach was first mentioned in a document on February 24, 1342 as "Overin Vispe". In a sales document from that year, a couple from Dirlenbach named the pastor from Oberfischbach as a witness to a sale. The early history of the town is closely linked to the church linked to that of the first parishes in the winner country belonged.

On January 1, 1969, Oberfischbach was incorporated into Freudenberg.

Bus transport

There are three stops in Oberfischbach; Oberfischbach School, Oberfischbach Ort and Oberfischbach Cemetery. From Oberfischbach you can drive to Siegen and Niederfischbach every hour and to Freudenberg and Dirlenbach every half hour. The lines are operated by Verkehrsbetriebe Westfalen Süd.
