Bottendorf is a district of the municipality Obernholz , district Gifhorn , in Lower Saxony in the Lüneburg Heath , near the border with Saxony-Anhalt. It has about 70 residents.

Geographical location

Bottendorf is located in the southern part of the Lüneburg Heath about 30 km south of the city of Uelzen , but administratively belongs to the Gifhorn district . The place is located between the Südheide Nature Park and the Elbufer-Drawehn Nature Park . Bottendorf is part of the municipality of Obernholz and is located on the northwestern edge of the municipality. The closest medium- sized centers are Gifhorn , Celle and Uelzen.

On March 1, 1974 Bottendorf was incorporated into the new municipality of Obernholz.
