Wettendorf is a district of the municipality of Obernholz , district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony in the southern part of the Lüneburg Heath , near the border with Saxony-Anhalt , and has about 147 inhabitants.

history

In 1331 Wettendorf (then still Wetendhorpe) was first mentioned in a document. During the Cold War, Wettendorf was the location of a permanent deployment of the low-flying reporting and control service of the Air Force (DEST TMLD), IV. FmRgt / 33.

On March 1, 1974, Wettendorf was incorporated into the new municipality of Obernholz.
