Bradley Jay "Brad" Lesley (born September 11, 1958 in Turlock , California , † April 27, 2013 in Marina del Rey , California) was an American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) on the position of pitcher .

He played from 1982 to 1985 for the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers . Lesley was to motivate yourself for his aggressive style itself known and therefore was nicknamed The Animal ( the animal ). Outside the United States, he became known as Animaru "Animal" Resuri , primarily through his participation in the Japanese game show Takeshi's Castle . He came to the television show after playing two seasons with the Hankyu Braves in the Japanese Pacific League . After that he had other roles and appearances in various films. Among other things at the side of Takeshi Kitano , who also played Prince Takeshi in Takeshi's Castle, he played in 2000 in the Japanese film Brother . He also had a guest role in the 1992 American film Mr. Baseball with Tom Selleck in the lead role. In 1996 he was seen in Space Jam at the request of Michael Jordan .

Lesley was married to the Japanese Chiho Svimonoff with whom he had a son. The marriage ended in divorce. Most recently he lived in Los Angeles and worked for the San Francisco Giants as a youth coach.

Lesley died of kidney failure on April 27, 2013 at the age of 54 .
