Bradley Richard "Brad" Thomas (* 22. October 1977 in Sydney , Australia ) is a baseball player in the Major League . From 2005 to 2006 he played in the Japanese NPB and from 2008 to 2009 in the Korean KBO .

Career

Brad Thomas was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995 . But in 1997 he moved to the Minnesota Twins , for which he played 101 games. In 2004 he was traded to the Boston Red Sox , which won the World Series that season . The following year he moved to Japan to the Hokkaidō Nippon Ham Fighters , with whom he was able to win the 2006 Nihon Series .

After he moved back to the MLB for the Seattle Mariners in 2007 , but without playing a game, he went to Korea for the Hanwha Eagles in 2008 . There he came in 104 missions as a closer to an ERA of 2.86, 44 saves and 119 strikeouts. In December 2009 Thomas moved back to the MLB for the Detroit Tigers. In the 2010 season he was used in 49 games (6–2, 3.89 ERA, 30 strikeouts).

National team

Brad Thomas is a member of the Australian national baseball team , which participated in the Sydney Olympic Games and the 2009 World Baseball Classic .
