Brda ( Italian : Collio , German : hill) is a municipality in the Primorska region in Slovenia . The administration of the municipality is located in Dobrovo, which also has a castle built around 1600.

The municipality of Brda is located in the far west of Slovenia between the Soča river and the border river Idrija . 5,767 people live in the total municipality of Brda, which consists of 45 localities and hamlets.

A lot of wine is grown in the hilly landscape. The Goriška Brda wine cellar , built in 1957, is the largest wine cellar in Slovenia with 18 million liters of wine.
