Brennan Rubie (born April 8, 1991 in Salt Lake City ) is a retired American ski racer . He has competed in the Nor-Am Cup since 2009 and competed in the World Cup for the first time in 2012 .

biography

Rubie learned to ski at Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah , where his father was a ski instructor. He completed the Snowbird Sports Education Foundation training program and attended Westminster College in his hometown of Salt Lake City . From winter 2006/2007 Rubie took part in FIS races , the first starts in the North American racing series Nor-Am Cup followed in February 2009. After his inclusion in the squad of the US American Ski Association, he was for the Junior World Championship 2011 in Crans-Montana nominated, where his best result was only a 26th place in the slalom. In the Nor-Am Cup he had already achieved several top 10 placements at this point. A little later, the first podium places followed with third place in the super combined and second place in the super G in Aspen . After another season in the Nor-Am Cup, Rubie first appeared in the World Cup on December 1, 2012 . With a 27th place in the Super-G at Beaver Creek , he immediately won World Cup points. Two weeks later he celebrated his first victories in the Nor-Am Cup when he won two giant slaloms and a Super-G in Panorama .
