Brent Fisher (born July 6, 1983 ) is a New Zealand soccer player .

Club career

Fisher joined New Zealand club Canterbury United at the age of 17 . After two years he moved to Northern Spirit FC in the Australian National Soccer League . After two seasons, 29 appearances and six goals, he went briefly to Manly United and finally moved to Germany for Energie Cottbus in the 2nd Bundesliga during the winter break of 2004/05 . After Michael Thurk's departure , Fisher was an option to fill the resulting forward gap at Energie. However, he could not prevail and was only substituted in two games. On the 25th matchday at the away game in Ahlen , coach Petrik Sander brought him in the 79th minute, on the 32nd matchday in Burghausen he came on in the 90th minute. With his 13 minutes he had the shortest playing time of all energy players in the season. Despite a contract until 2006, he left Cottbus at the end of the season.

He joined the Norwegian club IK Start at short notice , but was not used here. In 2006 he went back to his home country for Canterbury United.

Between 2006 and 2009 Fisher played in the Swedish third division for Bodens BK .

He has been back in New Zealand since 2009, after a brief stint for an amateur club, he signed with Waitakere City FC in October . In 2010 he moved to Australia from Green Gully SC .

National team

Brent Fisher played ten times for the New Zealand national soccer team between 2002 and 2006 and scored four goals. He made his debut in October 2002 in a friendly against Estonia . In qualifying for the 2006 World Cup , Fisher played all five games for New Zealand, and failed with the team in the 2nd round of the Oceanic Zone.

As early as 1999 Fisher took part with the U-17 national team in the U-17 World Cup in their own country. After three missions, two defeats and one win, he and the team missed the quarter-finals.
