Brian Gibson

Brian Gibson (born September 22, 1944 in London , † January 4, 2004 ibid) was a British film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Career

Brian Gibson's notable film projects included the award-winning biopic Tina - What's Love Got to Do with It? (1993), which is about the life story of Tina Turner (played by Angela Bassett ), and the horror film Poltergeist II - The Other Side (1986). Brian Gibson received an Emmy for the television film The Josephine Baker Story (1991) with Lynn Whitfield in the title role . Gibson - not related to Mel Gibson - died in 2004 after a long illness. His last film project was the Oscar- winning biopic Frida (2001), in which Gibson was involved as an executive producer (executive producer).
