The Briefmarken-Club Hannover von 1886 eV (short: BCH) is an association for philately and postal history based in Hanover . He is a member of the umbrella association Bund Deutscher Philatelisten (BDPh) and the regional association Verband Niedersächsischer Philatelistenvereine e. V. (VNPh). The members of the youth group are organized in the German Philatelist Youth .

The philatelists organized in the BCH are networked through further memberships and are active in other philatelic associations, such as the German Association of Old Letter Collectors , for the Philatelic Library Hamburg , in the Association of Collectors of German Colonial Postage Stamp eV, the Federal Association of Poland eV and internationally such as the Royal Philatelic Society London , the Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria and the Tasmanian Philatelic Society.

Events such as exhibitions and exchange days, etc. a. to the Stamp Day , as well as lectures characterize the philatelic part of the association's activities.

Working group Hannover-Braunschweig in the BCH

The Hannover-Braunschweig working group in the BCH (short: ArGe HB) is affiliated with the BCH. The research activity of the members focuses on these topics:

The results are reported in the newsletter, which is published twice a year.

Areas of interest in the Hannover Postage Stamp Club

In addition to the activities in the ArGe BH, which specialize in Hanover and Braunschweig, the BCH members have other focus topics, many of which are related to Germany , but there are also exotic areas of interest:

These and other topics are reported in at least two lectures per month during the club evenings. The lectures are listed in the BCH's publicly accessible calendar.

BCH club announcements

The BCH is now in its 134th year publishing its own magazine. These club news, known as "Club-Mitteilungen", appear four times a year. For many decades, the layout was created in the traditional way using scissors and glue as a reflective template. An average of 24 pages of the predominantly black and white printed content in Din A5 format were given recognition value by the distinctive yellow cover. Since the editorial tasks were transferred to new hands in 2018, production has been carried out in digital form. Since then, the booklets have been published in four colors with a significantly improved resolution of the images.
