Brigitte Engelhard

Brigitte Engelhard (born June 1949 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian pianist , harpsichordist and university teacher .

Life

Brigitte Engelhard studied instrumental pedagogy at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and completed a double degree in the subjects of piano and harpsichord, both of which she completed with a soloist diploma.

Her experience with the piano and organ and historical keyboard instruments such as harpsichord and fortepiano enable her to interpret both ancient and contemporary music. Engelhard gives concerts both as a soloist and as a chamber musician . She has given concerts in the USA , Japan and many countries in Southeast Asia . In Germany she was heard at the Berlin Festival , the Ludwigsburg Festival and the Lüneburg Bach Festival . Their concerts were broadcast by the broadcasters of ARD and ORF . CD recordings were released in collaboration with Irena Grafenauer ( Philharmonic Duo Berlin ) and Caterina Lichtenberg ( Duo Lichtenberg & Engelhard ).

Brigitte Engelhard has been a full professor of piano at the Mozarteum since 1992 . In addition to her teaching activities, she took on the duties of chairman of the study commission and as vice dean . She also gave guest courses in Switzerland , Germany and the USA. In 2005 she was given the position of Head of the Department for Science and Education at the Mozarteum. Since December 2006 she has been Vice Rector of the university and responsible for coordinating teaching.

Brigitte Engelhard is married to the oboist Arthur Jensen. Her daughter Clara Dent from her first marriage is solo oboist in the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra .
