Bromochlorophenol blue is a chemical compound from the group of triphenylmethane dyes and is related to phenolphthalein . It is used as an indicator substance that changes its color from yellow to blue-violet in the pH range from 3.0 to 4.6. At a pH value of 3.0 the absorption range is 433–437 nm, at 4.5 it is 590–592 nm.
