Bruckhausen is a district of the municipality of Hünxe in the Wesel district on the Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia . The district was characterized by mining for many years .
geography
From a geographical point of view, Bruckhausen is an independent village , located around 5 km north of Dinslaken and 6 km south of Hünxe, with currently 4,004 inhabitants . The area of the district is 2011.7 hectares. Bruckhausen is traversed by the Mühlenbach (popularly also called Möllebeck). West of the settlement are the caused by gravel works Tendering lakes . To the east of the district arose from the coal mining of the Lohberg colliery .
history
Brömmenkamp miners' settlement
In 1953, the first construction phase of the Brömmenkamp miners' settlement with 84 settler positions was completed. In the following years, three more construction phases were added, so that this settlement with a total of 250 settler sites became the largest coherent mining settlement in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a personal contribution, the settling miners each worked 800 hours.

In addition, the district of Bruckhausen has a location for the Hünxe volunteer fire brigade , which is currently equipped with an LF 16/12 fire fighting vehicle and a TSF portable fire pump . The volunteer fire brigade is supported by the 3F - "Friends and Sponsors of the Fire Brigade e.V." supported. The current team strength is around 30 active members. There are also around 10 members of the honorary department.

Bruckhausen is connected to the cities of Dinslaken and Wesel as well as to the municipality of Hünxe by the express bus line 3 , but Bruckhausen can also be reached with the lines 71 or 75 of the Niederrhein transport association . In Dinslaken and Wesel there is also a connection to the local public transport of Deutsche Bahn.
