The Brunndöbra is a river in the small Saxon and Vogtland town of Klingenthal . It is mainly fed by the waters of the upper reaches of the Brunndöbra in the so-called Linkischer Grund and the Steindöbra .

The Steindöbra flows into the Brunndöbra at the level of the Brunndöbraer Königsplatz (formerly Karl-Marx-Platz, in front of it Wettinplatz). The Brunndöbra finally flows into the Zwota or unites with it to form the German-Czech border river Zwodau or Zwotau.

Much of the course of the river runs parallel to the former Klingenthal narrow-gauge railway .

Overflow structure of the Höllgrundbach on the Floßgraben

Over the Höllgrundbach, the Brunndöbra from the ramp Brunndöbra and the water solution tunnel Brunndöbra of the former barite and uranium ore mine partially receive water from the catchment area of the Zwickauer Mulde . The natural water balance in the upper reaches of the Brunndöbra is disturbed by the former mining industry on its left-hand tributaries from the Goldbach over the watershed to just before Hammerbrücke .

Drains

Part of the water is discharged via the raft ditch to the Saubach, and thus via the watershed in the source area, to the Zwickauer Mulde:

  • am Steinbach (tributary of the Steindöbra) continuously
  • at the Tannenbach at high water (snowmelt)
  • on the Schwarzbach (tributary of the Höllgrundbach) at high water (melting snow)
  • at the Höllgrundbach at high water (snowmelt)
