Bruno-Augustin Hippel
Bruno-Augustin Hippel SAC (born February 8, 1907 in Hagenau , † November 7, 1970 in Pinelands ) was Bishop of Oudtshoorn .
Life
He was ordained a priest on March 25, 1936. The Pope appointed him on December 9, 1948 Titular of Abora and Vicar Apostolic of Oudtshoorn . The Apostolic Vicar of Cape Town , Franziskus Hennemann SAC, donated him episcopal ordination on February 13 of the following year ; Co-consecrators were Johannes Rosenthal SAC, Vicar Apostolic of Queenstown , and Hugh Boyle , Vicar Apostolic of Port Elizabeth . On January 11, 1951, Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Oudtshoorn.
After his resignation from the episcopate on October 2, 1968, Paul VI appointed him . as titular bishop of Vardimissa . He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
