The Roman Catholic Diocese of Queenstown ( lat. : Dioecesis Civitatis Reginae seu Queenstovensis ) is in South Africa situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Queenstown .

history

The diocese was founded on March 29, 1938 from the cession of the mission "Sui Iuris" of Queenstown as Apostolic Prefecture . On April 9, 1948, the elevation to the Apostolic Vicariate took place . On January 11, 1951, today's diocese of Queenstown was founded and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cape Town as a suffragan .
