Bruno Bianchi, who for the Yacht Club Italiano sailed, was in 1936 at the Olympic Games in Berlin in the 8-meter class Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the Italia under skipper Giovanni Reggio , which won one of the seven races and with 55 points the regatta taking place in the Olympic harbor Düsternbrook in Kiel just ahead of the Silja from Norway and the Germania III from the German Reich with 53 points each. In addition to Bianchi, the crew also included Luigi De Manincor , Domenico Mordini , Enrico Poggi and Luigi Poggi . At the 1948 Olympic Games in London , Bianchi started in the kite . As a crew member of the Ausonia , the regatta finished in fifth place.
From 1957 to 1961 Bianchi was Secretary General of the Italian Sailing Association.
