Domenico Mordini (born April 7, 1898 in Genoa ; † March 12, 1948 there ) was an Italian sailor .

Domenico Mordini, who for the Yacht Club Italiano sailed, was in 1936 at the Olympic Games in Berlin in the 8-meter class Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the Italia under skipper Giovanni Reggio , which won one of the seven races and with 55 points the regatta taking place in the Olympic harbor Düsternbrook in Kiel just ahead of the Silja from Norway and the Germania III from the German Reich with 53 points each. In addition to Mordini, the crew also included Luigi De Manincor , Bruno Bianchi , Enrico Poggi and Luigi Poggi .

Although Mordini, unlike the other crew members, came from the working class and had no naval background, he was nominated for the crew for propaganda purposes under pressure from the fascist government .
