Bruno Nicolè (born February 24, 1940 in Padua , † November 26, 2019 in Pordenone ) was an Italian football player . He was particularly successful in the Juventus jersey and won the championship three times and the cup twice with the club. With AS Roma he added another cup win.
Career
Bruno Nicolè, born in 1940 in the northern Italian city of Padua , started playing football for the local club AC Padova . There he went through the youth departments and finally found himself in 1956 at the age of sixteen in the professional squad of the then first-class club. At AC Padova, Nicolè played a season in which he made other clubs aware of him, especially at the end. So it happened that Bruno Nicolè switched to the Italian record champions Juventus Turin in the summer of 1957 , where he experienced the most successful years of his footballing career. With Juve , Nicolè won the Italian championship in his first season, when the Serie A in 1957/58 could be finished in first place with eight points ahead of Fiorentina . Two years later, Bruno Nicolè achieved the second trick in the championship with Juventus Turin. The 1959-60 Serie A was first with a lead of eight points again before Fiorentina won. In the same year, the team managed to win the Coppa Italia , the Italian football cup , for the second time in a row . While they had prevailed 4-1 in the final against Inter Milan in 1958/59 , the team of coach Carlo Parola achieved a narrower 3-2 win against Fiorentina in the 1959/60 season . As reigning champions and cup winners, they managed to win another title with Serie A in 1960/61 , when they finished the championship four points ahead of AC Milan . For Bruno Nicolè this meant the third championship of his playing career, and it would be the last. He played for Juventus Turin until 1963 and came to a total of 141 league games for Juve in six years , in which the attacker scored 47 goals.
From 1963 to 1964, Bruno Nicolè was under contract with Ozo Mantova , with whom he took a respectable thirteenth place in Serie A 1963/64 . The following year Nicolè was found as an active player at AS Roma , with whom he won the last title of his playing career. While in the league only the tenth place was occupied, the Roma penetrated in the Coppa Italia 1963/64 to the final and also prevailed there against AC Turin .
After a six-month interlude at Sampdoria Genoa , Bruno Nicolè had his last position as a football player from 1965 to 1967 with the US Alessandria , where he ended his career in 1967 at the age of 27 as a result of sustained injuries. Subsequently, Nicolè worked as a physical education teacher.
Between 1958 and 1964 Bruno Nicolè made eight appearances in the Italian national football team . He got two hits. However, the striker was denied participation in a world or European championship.
