Coppa Italia 1963/64

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Coppa Italia 1963/64 , the soccer cup competition for club teams in Italy in the 1963/64 season, was won by AS Roma . The Roma continued in the final against AC Turin by and the Coppa Italia won at all for the first time. The team of coach Juan Carlos Lorenzo won the replay with 1-0 after the final ended goalless after extra time, and succeeded Atalanta Bergamo , who had also prevailed against Torino last year but were eliminated in the quarter-finals this time.

When the European Cup Winners' Cup was supposed to be registered, the 1963/64 Coppa Italia was not over. Only the two finalists were known. As the Romans were already registered in the Messestädte Cup , AC Turin took the starting place in the European Cup Winners' Cup. In the course of the tournament they only failed in the playoff of the semi-finals against the West German representative TSV 1860 Munich .
