Coppa Italia 1984/85

The 1984/85 Coppa Italia , the soccer cup competition for club teams in Italy for the 1984/85 season, was won by Sampdoria Genoa . Samp met AC Milan in the final and was able to win the Coppa Italia for the first time. The cup success in 1985 also marked the beginning of a ten-year successful era for the club, which culminated in the 1991 championship . Sampdoria Genoa prevailed with 1-0 and 2-1. They were the successors of AS Roma , who had prevailed against Hellas Verona last year, but this time failed in the round of 16.

As the Italian cup winner in 1984/85, Sampdoria Genoa qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year, where they failed in the second round against the Portuguese representative Benfica Lisbon .
