The Coppa Italia 1969/70 , the football cup competition for club teams in Italy in the 1969/70 season, was won by FC Bologna . Bologna prevailed in the final round before AC Turin and was able to win the Coppa Italia for the first time ever. Coach Edmondo Fabbri's team was one point ahead of Torino . They succeeded AS Roma , who had prevailed over US Cagliari last year, but this time they were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
As the Italian cup winners in 1969/70, FC Bologna qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year, where they were eliminated in the first round against the GDR representative FC Vorwärts Berlin .
