The Coppa Italia 1968/69 , the soccer cup competition for club teams in Italy in the 1968/69 season, was won by AS Roma . The Roma prevailed in the final round before US Cagliari and won the Coppa Italia for the second time. Coach Helenio Herrera's team was three points ahead of Cagliari . They succeeded AC Turin , who had prevailed over AC Milan last year, but this time failed in the final round.
As the Italian cup winner in 1968/69 AS Roma qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year, where they were eliminated in the semifinals by drawing lots against the Polish representative Górnik Zabrze .
