Coppa Italia 1978/79

The 1978/79 Coppa Italia , the football cup competition for club teams in Italy in the 1978/79 season, was won by Juventus Turin . Juve met SSC Palermo in the final and won the Coppa Italia for the sixth time. With 2-1 after extra time, the team of coach Giovanni Trapattoni prevailed. They succeeded Inter Milan , which had prevailed against SSC Napoli last year, but this time had already been eliminated in the quarter-finals against Juventus.

As the Italian Cup winners 1978/79 Juventus qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year, where they were eliminated in the semifinals against the English representative Arsenal London .
