The Coppa Italia 1977/78 , the football cup competition for club teams in Italy in the 1977/78 season, was won by Inter Milan . Inter met SSC Napoli in the final and won the Coppa Italia for the second time. The team of coach Eugenio Bersellini prevailed with 2: 1 . They became the successor to AC Milan , which had prevailed against Inter last year, but this time had already been eliminated in the second group stage.
As the Italian cup winner in 1977/78, Inter Milan qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup of the following year, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Belgian representative KSK Beveren .
