Bruno Röthig

Bruno Röthig (born October 7, 1859 in Ebersbach ; † March 24, 1931 in Leipzig ) was a German Protestant church musician and composer .

Bruno Röthig studied organ and music theory in Leipzig and singing in Berlin . In 1889 he became cantor at the Johanniskirche in Leipzig . Röthig created motets and songs . He edited a collection of church choirs. He founded the Leipzig Solo Quartet for Protestant Church Chant and undertook a concert tour with them in 1900 through Germany , Russia and the United States . Together with his wife Kläre Röthig, he published his memoirs From the youthful time a song sounds (Berlin 1930, 1931) and From a Saxon choir (Berlin 1932).
