Bruno Schnakenberg

Bruno Schnakenberg (born June 6, 1922 in Bremen - Grohn ; † March 17, 2013 in Bremen) was a German trade unionist, politician ( SPD ) and member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Education, work and family

Schnakenberg trained as a lathe operator at Bremer Vulkan . During the Second World War he served as a soldier in the Navy and was in various places in Europe (Greece, Scandinavia). After the war he walked back from Kiel to his home town of Grohn. He then worked at the American occupiers' Camp Grohn and was responsible for transports. After that he worked in his profession. He joined the trade union and was a member there for over 65 years, since 1954 trade union secretary and from 1971 to 1983 managing director of the Bremen administration office of IG Chemie-Papier-Keramik (today: IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie ).

He was married to Hildegard Schnakenberg (née Heinz) for over 60 years. They both have a daughter and a son and four grandchildren.

Schnakenberg had been a member of the SPD in Bremen since 1954 and was active in his local association in Vegesack in various functions, including chairman of the local association and spokesman for the SPD local associations in North Bremen.

Before 1963 he was a member of the Vegesack Advisory Board . From 1963 to 1975 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship and u. a. active in the deputations for work, health and sport as well as in the petition committee of the citizenship.

He was a board member of the Bremen Chamber of Labor and on the board of AOK Bremen / Bremerhaven .

From 1974 to 1986 he was a member of the board of the Landesversicherungsanstalt LVA Oldenburg / Bremen and from 1986 was alternately chairman of the board of today's Deutsche Rentenversicherung Oldenburg-Bremen . He was active as a state labor and social judge.

Since 1967 he was a member and later deputy district chairman of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) in Vegesack.
