Bruno Wahl (born December 12, 1876 in Salzburg , † March 19, 1971 ibid) was an Austrian entomologist .

Life

Born in Salzburg, Bruno choice devoted to filed Matura studying zoology at the University of Vienna and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich , which he in 1900 in Vienna with the promotion graduated. In 1899, Bruno Wahl received an assistant position at the Zoological Institute of the University of Graz , in 1904 he moved to the Federal Institute for Plant Protection in Vienna , which he had headed from 1924.

In 1916 he completed his habilitation in entomology at the University of Vienna, where he worked as an honorary lecturer from 1923 to 1934 and as an adjunct professor from 1942 to 1947 . In addition, he completed his habilitation in 1922 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences , where he held a private lectureship until 1938 . The research interests of the Wahl, who was appointed Hofrat in 1924 , were turbellariums , plant pests and plant protection .
