Bruno Welleschik

Bruno Welleschik (born February 1, 1944 in Konstanz , † October 22, 2011 in Vienna ) was an Austrian ear, nose and throat doctor and university professor.

life and work

After graduating from high school in Feldkirch , Bruno Welleschik studied medicine at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1970 . He began his training as a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine in May 1971 at the I. University ENT Clinic in Vienna with Otto Novotny, then with Klaus Ehrenberger. In 1977 he became senior physician and in 1987 head of the audiological outpatient department. The main focus of his work was noise-related hearing loss . He received his habilitation on this subject in 1981 . In 1990 he was appointed head of the ENT department of the Rudolfstiftung Hospital . In addition to his work at the Rudolf Foundation, Welleschik was the medical and scientific director of the academy for the speech therapy , phoniatric and audiological service of the City of Vienna.

Bruno Welleschik was married and had two daughters. From 2006 to 2011 he was a volunteer Wikipedia author.
