Brush is a small town in the US state of Colorado and is located about 140 km northeast of the state capital Denver in the catchment area of the South Platte . It is the second largest city in Morgan County after the administrative seat of Fort Morgan . The city is located in a productive region of the Great Plains ; The main agricultural products include wheat , soy and sugar beet .
The town was named in 1882 after Jared L. Brush , who came to the Front Range during the Colorado Gold Rush in 1859 and owned a ranch in the Big Thompson Valley , near present-day Jamestown . He later became sheriff in Weld County and 1894 lieutenant governor in Colorado.
