Bryan Arguez (born January 13, 1989 in Miami , Florida ) is an American football player of Cuban descent.

Career

The way to Berlin

Arguez signed a Generation Adidas contract that enabled him to be accepted into a Major League Soccer team without having played for a college team beforehand. He was also able to join the IMG Soccer Academy, a special football boarding school in Florida. At the MLS SuperDraft 2007 he was selected by DC United in the first round. For the team from Washington, DC , he was in the squad for the entire 2007 season , but did not complete a single competitive game and only played in the team's reserve.

On January 25, 2008, he moved to the German Bundesliga club Hertha BSC for 200,000 euros . He made his game debut for Berlin on February 2, 2008 against Eintracht Frankfurt , when he came into the game for Gojko Kačar in the 62nd minute . This was also his only assignment for Hertha. After almost two years in the capital, his contract was terminated in December 2009.

Via Portugal to the USA

After terminating his contract with Hertha BSC, Arguez received an invitation to train with the Brazilian club Flamengo .

Arguez moved in January 2010 to the US soccer club Miami FC in the USSF Division 2 Professional League . The team's owners, Traffic Sports, awarded it to GD Estoril Praia . He did not play a game with the Portuguese and returned to the USA in April 2010. At Miami he played seven games, but was released mid-season. On February 22, 2011, he was taken back under contract by the Fort Lauderdale Strikers , formerly Miami FC. There he completed his first league game on April 9, 2011 against FC Edmonton .

After a very successful season with the Strikers, he was signed by Montreal Impact on November 25, 2011 .

Since at least July 2014 he plays in the USASA nationals SSM Premier , a district league in Miami .

National team

Arguez played for the United States U-17 team from 2005 to 2006 . There he scored one goal in 27 games. Later he was part of the U-20 national team , for which he was on the field a total of 15 times. With this he also took part in the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada , where he was not used. In 2008 he played twice for the US Under-23 team. Both missions took place during the 2008 Toulon tournament. However, he was not nominated for the Summer Olympics taking place in the same .

At the 2009 Junior World Cup , he scored the first goal of the tournament for the United States. This was the beginning of a 4-1 win against Cameroon.
