Bryce Walton

Bryce Marvis Walton (born May 31, 1918 in Blythedale , Missouri ; died February 5, 1988 in Van Nuys , Los Angeles , California ) was an American writer, best known as a writer of science fiction .

Life

Walten was the son of Paul Dean Walton and Golda, nee Powers. After working in various professions, he attended from 1939 to 1941 the Junior College in Los Angeles and after the Second World War from 1946 to 1947 the California State College there . From 1945 he was a full-time writer who mainly published in Pulp magazines, mostly using pseudonyms. Two of his novels have been translated into German.

In addition to the stories for Pulp magazines, he also wrote screenplays, including for the television series Captain Video and His Video Rangers and Presented for Alfred Hitchcock , where he was three scriptwriters and four scripts for six episodes. In 1961 Walton received the Alfred Hitchcock Best Short Story of the Year Award . The television film Into the Badlands (1991, director: Sam Pillsbury, German as Land of the Forgotten ) is based on Walton's short story The Last Pelt from 1954.

In 1988 Walton died at the age of 69.
