Brzezie ( German : Briesche ) is a district of the municipality of Trzebnica in Poland. The village with 335 inhabitants is 14 kilometers northeast of Trzebnica and belongs to the Trzebnicki powiat .
history
In 1785 Briesche belonged to the Trebnitz monastery and had 295 inhabitants. In the village there was a farm , a water mill and a potash boiler .
In 1894 Briesche was mentioned with 438 inhabitants in the Neumanns Ort-Lexikon des Deutschen Reiches.
In 1945 Briesche formed a municipality in the district of Trebnitz in the administrative district of Breslau in the Prussian province of Lower Silesia of the German Empire .
The area of the municipality of Trebnitz was occupied by the Red Army in January 1945 . After the end of the Second World War , Briesche was placed under Polish administration by the Soviet occupation forces in May 1945, like almost all of Silesia . The place name was Polonized as Brzezie . The German population was expelled in the period that followed .
In 2011 Brzezie had 335 inhabitants.
