  • The Magistralni put 11 is under construction national road in Serbia , which after completion of Autoput A1 to the Hungarian border at Kelebija will result. Referring to the European road number , the route is also referred to as E 662 by the Serbian authorities . It is also known under the name Y-krak .

    Planning history

As one of the most important infrastructure projects in the city of Subotica, the bypass road is intended to relieve the city center of freight and international traffic. It is being rebuilt as an intersection-free, two-lane road as part of a traffic connection that leads south from Hungary and Central Europe through Subotica. The planning for the bypass road began in the late 1980s. The first construction work began in 1990 but was discontinued when the wars in Yugoslavia broke out. After the wars, implementation was repeatedly postponed due to a lack of financial resources.

    construction

The construction was divided into three sections:

    • Border crossing Kelebija (RS / HU) - Junction Subotica (M12) (11.6 km)
    • Junction Subotica (M12) - Junction Subotica (R100) (4.6 km)
    • Junction Subotica (R100) - Motorway triangle Subotica-jug (A1) (6.1 km)

The tenders started in January 2010. Completion was planned for the end of 2012. The construction company Borovica won the tender for the first, the construction company Putevi Užice for the other two sections. Construction began in May 2010 and should be completed by the end of October 2012. However, the construction had to be interrupted again due to a lack of financial resources in the state budget. Around 30% of all construction work was carried out. 275 million dinars (approx. 2.4 million euros) had been spent until the construction stop. A further 1.5 billion dinars (approx. 13 million euros) are required until completion.
