A part of the natural area of building land in northeast Baden-Württemberg , in the area of which the eponymous town of Buchen is located, is known as the Buchener Platte . The Buchener Platte , as natural spatial unit no. 128.7 of the main unit group Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten, has no further subdivision unit in the second decimal place.
The Buchener Platte is a denudation surface in the Middle Muschelkalk. The tributaries of the Seckach have created wide valleys there, which are mainly used for agriculture.
