A part of the natural area of building land in the north-east of Baden-Württemberg is referred to as medium building land . As a natural spatial unit No. 128.5 of the main unit group Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten, the middle building land has three subdivision units in the second decimal place: The Seckach-Kirnau-Platten (No. 128.50), the Kessachplatten (No. 128.51) and Stöckig (No. 128.52 ).

From the Middle land are mainly Seckach-Kirnau plates in the Neckartal-Odenwald . This area includes the finger-shaped branched valley system of the Seckach , which divides the shell limestone surfaces into several plates. The plateaus consist exclusively of Upper Muschelkalk. The plateaus are characterized by hollows and dents, the shape and flow of which depend on the partially chalky, clayey subsoil in other places. The higher parts of the area are very arid over karstified shell limestone. The loess clay is heavily decalcified. The flowing waters originate mainly in the Middle Muschelkalk. Heavy, fertile clay soils with numerous springs also occur here. Overall, agriculture predominates. The use of grassland is mainly limited to valleys and hollows.
