Bud Alper

Bud Alper (born August 24, 1930 in Los Angeles , California , † December 19, 2012 there ) was an American sound engineer .

Life

Alper began his career in 1959 as a cable helper on the western No Mercy for Tom Dooley with Michael Landon in the lead role. From the late 1960s he worked as a sound engineer for film and television. In the course of his career he worked for television on the series Hawaii Fünf-Null , Petrocelli and Jake and McCabe - Through thick and thin . He also worked on the miniseries The Bankers , Beyond Eden and Noble House .

1977 Alper was nominated for Rocky together with Harry W. Tetrick , William McCaughey and Lyle J. Burbridge for the Oscar in the category Best Sound . In 1983 he was nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Sound for Blade Runner . In 1986 he was nominated for a film award for the last time, but also for Der Tag des Falken he went empty-handed at the award ceremony.

Alper retired from the film business in 2000 and died in Los Angeles in December 2012.
