Buddy Budson

Buddy Budson (* around 1950) is an American jazz musician ( piano , arrangement , composition ).

Live and act

Budson performed in Detroit clubs as a teenager; In 1973 he played in the Buddy Rich Big Band, with whom he toured England, Australia and the United States ( The Roar of 1974 ). He then toured with Earl Klugh and The Four Tops . In the following years he worked a. a. with Henry Mancini , Mel Tormé , Sammy Davis, Jr. , Marlena Shaw , Charles McPherson , Terry Gibbs , Buddy DeFranco and Steve Turre; He also composed for film and television and as an arranger for big bands. He was a regular guest at the Detroit International Jazz Festival ; he also performed together with his wife, the singer Ursula Walker . He has taught in the Detroit school system and at the University of Michigan , Michigan State University, and Wayne State University . With his sextet he recorded the album On With Their Heads . Budson was recorded with the Metro Times Jazz Award and the Teddy Harris, Jr. Legendary Award from the Detroit Metro Area Musicians and Entertainers Association. In the field of jazz he was involved in seven recording sessions between 1973 and 2008. a. with Marion Hayden .
