Bug is a district of Weißdorf in the Hof district in Upper Franconia .

Bug had several well-fortified residences, Bug Castle , the Hinterer Buberg hilltop castle on the "Buberg" and finally the Bug manor , where the chemist Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner grew up. In Bug there was a grain and cutting mill from the 18th century, which burned down in 1956.

Bug is on the federal road 289 between Weißdorf and Seulbitz .
