The Buråsbotnen is Kar in East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the northern part of the Kottasberge in Heimefrontfjellal, it lies between Helsetskarvet and Schivestolen .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named him in 1969 after the Norwegian lumberjack and twelve-time father Ole Burås (1899-1944), who was murdered by the Gestapo on April 22, 1944 while trying to enable Jews to escape from occupied Norway to Sweden.
