The Castle Sokolov is an Outbound lowland castle on the Rhine near the town of Gernsheim in Gross-Gerau district in Hesse .
The castle "Valkenowe" was first mentioned in 1266, when Philip I von Falkenstein shared the "Gülten and pensions of the castles for Hain, Raub and Valkenowe" in equal parts between his sons Philipp II von Falkenstein and Werner I von Falkenstein . Nothing has been preserved from the castle complex, which can no longer be precisely located.
