Mörfelden Castle

The castle Mörfelden is an Outbound Wasserburg on the forest cemetery on the southern outskirts of Mörfelden in the city of Morfelden-Walldorf in Gross-Gerau district in Hesse .

Between 1215 with Waltherus de Mersevelt , 1253 Wernherus clericus , filius Walteri de Mersenvelt, probably the same Walter v. M. is named in the same year as Vogt von Trebur and in 1325 with Heinrich von Mersevelt the local nobility is named, at this time the castle can also be accepted.

There are no more remains of the castle today or the cemetery was built over. Old sandstones built in the place are assigned to the castle. Their location is located in the so-called Kühloch , a formerly swampy lowland .
