Burghilde Wieneke-Toutaoui

Burghilde Wieneke-Toutaoui (born November 13, 1958 ) is a German mechanical engineer and professor of industrial engineering . From 2013 to 2019 she was elected president and thus head of the Brandenburg University of Technology (Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences until 2016) in Brandenburg an der Havel .

career path

Burghilde Wieneke-Toutaoui completed her mechanical engineering degree in 1982. In the following years she worked in the field of factory planning for production systems and construction technology at the Fraunhofer Society and received her doctorate in 1987 on the subject of "Computer-aided planning systems for the design of production systems".

From 1990 to 2013 she was a professor at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin . From 2003 to 2011 she held the office of Vice President for Studies and Teaching. In 2012 she was elected President of the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences. She held the office until March 31, 2019, after losing the battle vote for re-election on November 7, 2018. Andreas Wilms followed her .

Burghilde Wieneke-Toutaoui has three grown children.

Association activity in the Association of German Engineers (VDI)

Burghilde Wieneke-Toutaoui has been involved in the Association of German Engineers (VDI) for years and is an honorary member of the VDI. As the former chairwoman of women in engineering, she was committed to more than 10,000 women engineers who are organized in the VDI. In addition, she is the chairwoman of the Berlin-Brandenburg district association and thus the first woman to hold the chairmanship of this district association.
