Buri Ram ( Thai บุรีรัมย์ , roughly: City of Joy ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง บุรีรัมย์ ) in the Thai province of Buri Ram . It is the capital of the District ( Amphoe ) Mueang Buri Ram and the Province of Buri Ram.
The city of Buri Ram has 27,862 inhabitants (as of 2012).
geography
The province of Buri Ram is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan . Buri Ram is located on the southern edge of the Khorat plateau , which is extremely dry in the hot season and flooded in the rainy season . The distance to the capital Bangkok is about 400 kilometers.
