Burkhard Budde

Burkhard Budde (born September 23, 1953 in Bünde ) is a German Protestant theologian, author, journalist and local politician ( CDU ).

education

From 1965 to 1973 Budde attended the Freiherr-vom Stein-Gymnasium in the "cigar town" of Bünde in East Westphalia. During his school days he was the student representative and district student representative, co-founder of the Student Union Westphalia-Lippe and co-founder of the Junge Union Bünde.

From 1973 to 1979 he studied Protestant theology until 1974 at what was then the Church of Bethel / Bielefeld , and then also journalism and philosophy at the University of Münster . During his studies he received a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and was able to attend a graduation academy in the USA. During the semester break in particular, he completed short traineeships at Deutschlandfunk in Cologne and Bonn and at the Herford district newspaper . From 1975 to 1979 he was councilor of the city of Bünde, chairman of the city youth committee and member of the social and school committee.

From 1979 to 1980 he was parish vicar in Bocholt and Münster ; A press vicariate with a volunteer course from 1980 to 1981 at the Evangelical Press Association in Brackwede / Bielefeld and in the journalism center Haus Busch in Hagen followed.

Time in the church

From 1981 to 1994 he was pastor of the Protestant parish Spenge in the Herford district. During his time in the community he was a member of the board of trustees of the Bünder Krankenhaus (since 1982), member of the synodal board of the Herford parish (since 1984), and a member of the Radio Herford organizing association (since 1987).

Time in diakonia

From 1994 to 2014 he was director / chairman of the board of directors of the Marienstiftes in Braunschweig , a church foundation with a hospital, nursing home, training centers and deaconess mother house. During this time he attended the seminar of the Academy for Management in Bad Harzburg , seminars with Alfred Jäger in St. Gallen and management courses at the German Hospital Institute . Since 1996 as a member, since 2008 as chairman of the Evangelical Elderly Welfare Association in Lower Saxony, he has been able to organize work in the association, since 1996 also as a member of the board of directors / supervisory board member of the Diakonisches Werk of the regional church as well as chairman of the Diakonisches Werk home leaders 'conference, and since 2012 also as chairman of the members' assembly of the Diakonisches Werk Braunschweig.

In 2001 he was a member of the Braunschweig City Council.

In 2007 he did his doctorate at the Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal / Bethel on the subject of management structures and framework conditions of denominational hospitals in Germany under Alfred Jäger.

Others

Burkhard Budde was an honorary judge at the Braunschweig Administrative Court and a lay judge at the Braunschweig District Court . He was a member of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's selection committee, chairman of the supervisory board of the Wichernhaus senior citizens' home in Bad Harzburg and chairman of the Helmut-Ebbecke-Georgstiftung in Braunschweig.

He has been a freelance journalist, newspaper columnist and journalist since 2014.

Budde lives in Bad Harzburg, is married and has two grown children.
