Burkhard Hofer (born May 30, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer. He was CEO of the Lower Austrian energy supplier EVN .

Life

Hofer attended primary school in Vienna-Mauer , the Fichtnergasse grammar school and the Diefenbachgasse secondary school , where he graduated in 1962 . After serve the military service he began studying law and political science at the University of Vienna , which he in 1968 with the promotion for Doctor graduated rights.

After completing the court year and a short internship as a trainee lawyer with a Viennese lawyer, Hofer joined the financial procurator in 1970 . As a clerk of the procurator's office, he worked as a judicial and extrajudicial representative in various federal agencies. As part of this activity, Burkhard Hofer passed the service examination and the bar exam.

From 1980 Hofer was employed at EVN , initially as head of the legal department . From April 1992 he was head of the general secretariat of EVN with responsibility for legal matters of the company as well as for investments and projects. From March 2005 to January 2011 he was the spokesman for the EVN Board of Management and was responsible for the strategic business units Energy Procurement and Sales and Environment as well as for the corporate functions General Secretariat and Corporate Affairs, Human Resources , Controlling , Finance , Accounting (including Investor Relations ), Information and Communication, procurement and purchasing as well as customer relations. At the beginning of 2011, Hofer switched to the EVN Supervisory Board and heads it as President.

Burkhard Hofer was also head of the supervisory board of BEWAG , BEGAS and RAG -Beteiligungs-AG (RBG). From August 20, 2009 he will be a member of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Wien AG . From the beginning of 2012 he has been President of the Supervisory Board of the Hypo NÖ Group .

Since 1964 he has been a member of the Catholic student union KaV Marco-Danubia Vienna .
