The young Helen, played by Nicole Kidman, who was 14 at the time in her first film role, pursues horse thieves in the rough Australian wilderness together with her siblings and the Aborigine Manalpuy.

action

The Thompson family makes a living from breeding racehorses. When their prince, their most valuable horse, is stolen, Helen, the daughter of the family, along with her younger brother and a cousin from England, set out to pursue the horse thieves. Manalpuy, an Aboriginal boy and friend of the Thompson children, is also there. Helen is not the only one who knows that the Thompsons Prince registered for a major race with a high prize money in order to avert the threat of expropriation by winning the money.

On their adventurous hunt through the Australian wilderness, the children get lost in the bush and have to fight for survival. Ultimately, however, they manage to capture the thieves and bring Prince back in time for the race. And the animal fulfills the expectations placed in it, wins the race and with it the prize money. A reason for the Thompsons to celebrate Christmas with special gratitude and a happy heart.
